Prince Andrew has been snubbed on his 64th birthday with no public wellwishers from the royal family.
Senior royals would normally post a message on their social media channels celebrating birth dates. But not on this occasion.
Even his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, who famously declared they are “the happiest divorced couple in the world”, failed to post a public message.
The Duke of York was photographed looking downcast as he drove into Windsor and later went horse riding.
It comes as Netflix prepares to release Scoop, a dramatisation about Andrew’s notorious BBC interview on his links to Epstein.
The film, starring Gillian Anderson as Newsnight anchor Emily Maitlis and Rufus Sewell as the prince, will air in April.
The prince has kept out of public view at his Royal Lodge since his name appeared in numerous documents identifying associates of convicted pedophile, the late Jeffery Epstein.
Speculation about Andrew returning back into the royal fold were quashed following the documents’ release with King Charles keeping his brother at a distance.
CAMILLA ‘ATTACKS’ CAKE WITH SWORD
Queen Camilla left a crowd in stitches as she attempted to cut a cake with a ceremonial sword while marking the 100th anniversary of a veteran’s charity.
Photos show Camilla slicing the cake, which was ornately decorated to mark the centenary of The Poppy Factory last week, which was founded in the aftermath of the First World War to support veterans.
On approaching the cake, the Queen joked with guests exclaiming: “A beautifully polished sword, not sure which way I’m going to attack this, dig in there, it’s quite soft.”
Camilla wore a navy dress with a poppy pin to mark the special occasion and accessorised her outfit with large, pearl earrings.
During the event, the Queen talked about the organisation’s efforts and explained that veterans sometimes “don’t get as much attention as they need.”
The 76-year-old has been supporting the Poppy Factory for the past 10 years and regularly visits Westminster Abbey’s Field of Remembrance which is filled with poppy crosses on Armistice Day.
The royal told guests: “I can’t believe that I’ve been part of it for 10 years. I’m very proud to be part of the Poppy Factory because I’ve seen the wonderful work that you do.”
“It’s so important nowadays to look after these veterans because sometimes they don’t get as much attention as they need.
“So if it wasn’t for you and the other wonderful charities that are supporting them, I don’t know what they’d do.”
Camilla attended the event without her husband King Charles as he continues to rest at Sandringham Estate as he undergoes ‘pioneering’ treatment for cancer.
The guests applauded when the Poppy Factory’s president, Surgeon Rear Admiral Lionel Jarvis, asked the Queen to send their best wishes to the King.
During the reception, Camilla met the factory’s employees and longstanding friends and partners, as well as veterans and family members who have overcome barriers and seen their lives changed by civilian employment with help from The Poppy Factory.
The Queen also viewed a small exhibition of poppies and wreaths that show the evolution of the poppy as a symbol of Remembrance and the factory’s role in the Remembrance tradition.
