Omid Scobie says he knows the identities of the royals accused of racist comments

Endgame author Omid Scobie revealed how he knows the two royals who Meghan Markle accused of making racist comments about the colour of Archie’s skin.

British author Omid Scobie is hitting the media circuit to promote his new book, Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival, and in interviews is teasing some of the bombshell contents of the book.

In advance of his sit-down interview with US television’s Good Morning America, the Finding Freedom author reveals that there were two royal family members caught up in the discussion of race and the colour of Archie’s skin, and that he knows who they are.

Scobie claims that Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle accused two — not just one, as previously thought — members of the royal household of making racist remarks, and in his interview with GMA he reveals that although he knows the identities of the two who made the allegedly racist comments, he cannot disclose them.

“I do know who made the comments on Archie’s skin colour,” Scobie told the GMA host. “The names were mentioned in letters that were exchanged between Meghan and Charles some time after the Oprah interview.”

Scobie says King Charles was “horrified” at how Meghan felt and wanted, “as a representative of the family have that conversation with her” and wanted to move forward in conversation with her, Scobie said.

But the royal author stopped short of revealing the identities of the two, as UK law prevents him from doing so.

King Charles III was allegedly fuming when son Prince Harry and daughter-in-law Meghan Markle’s bombshell Netflix docuseries dominated headlines in December 2022.

“[The show] took the wind out of everyone’s sails,” a source told journalist Omid Scobie for his latest book, Endgame.

In an advance copy obtained by Page Six, the insider added that King Charles was “doing his damnedest best” to get positive media attention after ascending the throne following Queen Elizabeth II’s death in September 2022.

However, according to the source, “no one [was] watching” thanks to the Sussexes’ highly publicised Netflix release, Harry & Meghan.

In his frustration, King Charles “went from not wanting anyone to talk about his son to openly criticising ‘that fool,’” another royal insider alleged.

“The King was genuinely sad about the entire situation,” the source told Scobie three months after the series premiered.

“He was angry but didn’t want people to speak ill of his son in front of him, either. It was a brief moment where he paused and realised how bad things had become.”

However, Scobie noted that King Charles’ sympathy for Harry and Meghan “soon disappeared” when their media attention overshadowed his own.

Scobie — whose forthcoming book highlights a handful of secrets from the lives of the royals — also wrote that the docuseries “eclipsed” Charles “at every turn.”

“I’ve watched Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace repeatedly get worried about being upstaged and derailed by the couple, and leak negative information on Harry and Meghan … during moments that could easily be focused on genuine royal news instead,” the controversial journalist wrote.

It has been widely reported that King Charles and his youngest son Prince Harry, 39, haven’t been on the best of terms since Harry and Meghan, 42, resigned from their royal duties in 2020 and relocated to California in what appears to be a permanent move.

The rift widened when the Netflix deal was followed by the Duke of Sussex’s scathing memoir, Spare.

Despite the tell-all interviews, both Charles and Harry are reportedly trying to repair their relationship. It is believed the expat royals called Charles for his 75th birthday and the Telegraph reported they sent a video of son Archie, 4, and daughter Lilibet, 2 singing “Happy Birthday” to their grandfather.

Prior to the release of Scobie’s book, an insider told Page Six that Harry “wants to have a better relationship with Charles.”

But members of the British royal family are allegedly getting fed up with King Charles’s reluctance to reconcile with his youngest son, Prince Harry.

In an advance copy of Endgame obtained by Page Six, Scobie spoke to several sources about the Duke of Sussex’s turbulent past few years.

While Harry and Meghan have allegedly made several attempts to reconnect with their estranged family members, it seems King Charles and others won’t budge.

“It’s complex, but there’s increasing frustration from some of the wider circle of family members that Charles won’t just fix things for the sake of everyone,” a royal source claimed to Scobie.

Meanwhile, a friend of Harry’s claimed the royal reached out to Charles to wish the family a Merry Christmas in 2022 after his father refused to make the first move, another excerpt from the book claims.

“It was an awkward conversation, but he knew if he didn’t make those first steps, there would never be any progress,” the friend explained of Harry’s decision to reach out to his father.

“There were no raised voices, no arguments … but the King was cold and brief rather than open to any proper dialogue.”

The bombshell book also addresses the impact Harry’s exit from the UK — and the subsequent drama caused by the US sit-down interviews and Spare memoir — had on Prince William.

“After Harry’s exit, William is considerably more alone in the battle of his two selves,” Scobie wrote.

“Even though they were always on different paths, Harry and William once shared an office, worked on the same foundations, and wanted to protect their families from the things they both feared.”

A source also claimed to the author that William, 41, and his father, Charles, 75, “have been unified in their frustrations with Harry.”
