Kate Middleton’s unflattering ‘secret’ nickname revealed in new royal book

The Princess of Wales earned herself an unflattering nickname after her press office’s sneaky tactic was revealed, it’s claimed in an explosive new book.

Outrageous royal family scandals everyone's forgotten

Kate Middleton received a nasty “secret” nickname after her staff’s tactic for hiding her alleged lighter workload was revealed, it’s been claimed in an explosive new royal book.

Omid Scobie’s highly-anticipated Endgame was released today, and has already ruffled plenty of feathers.

The royal commentator, who has been accused of bias in favour of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the past, revealed that the Princess of Wales was dubbed “Katie Keen” because the palace press office regularly claims that she is “keen to learn” in a bid to divert attention from her lower number of engagements.

The book then detailed how Kate “does not plan to increase her workload for 10-15 years”, until her three children – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5 – are grown up.

Scobie goes on to explain that the late Queen Elizabeth II liked Kate as she was “coachable”, unlike the “strong-minded” Princess Diana.

“The late Queen, too, would take off blocks of time throughout the year to recharge, but she was also known to carry out at least three hundred engagements annually,” he wrote.

“Sources said Kate remains ‘laser focused’ on her duty to the family first, and then the Crown.

“Where other senior royals are out and about several times a week, meeting people across the length and breadth of the country, Kate has long maintained a smaller work schedule that helped her check off the required royal boxes while saving time for her roles as a mother and a wife.”

Kate Middleton move is a huge problem for royals

However, it was a different story with Meghan Markle during her short-lived stint as a royal, as Scobie claimed she quickly became the “star of the show” and the “new Diana”, making her role “far less about fashion choices and more about her work … in the Firm.”

He added that Meghan, along with husband Prince Harry, showed the world “how to be a modern royal” – which made Prince William and Kate “look a little dull”.

The fact that Meghan and Kate never really got along is well-documented, with the Duchess of Sussex confirming it herself in her Oprah Winfrey interview and Netflix docu-series – and in Endgame, Scobie described the latter as a Stepford-like royal wife.

According to him, the sisters-in-law had “nothing in common”, and Kate was “uninterested” in forming a “bond” with Meghan as “she can be cold if she doesn’t like someone” – and she “wasn’t a fan of Meghan”.

The pair haven’t spoken since 2019, bar a “few pleasantries”, it’s claimed.
