Kate Middleton’s ‘moved on’ from idea of Meghan reconciliation

Kate Middleton has reportedly left the idea of ever reconnecting with Meghan Markle very firmly in the past.

Kate Middleton and Prince William are reportedly not interested in working to repair their strained relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The pair have had frosty at best relations for almost half-a-decade, and it doesn’t look like that’s set to chance in the near or even distant future, despite hopes from some royal followers.

“She’s moved on and William has too,” a friend of Kate’s told PEOPLE this week.

“She’s very focused on what matters going forward. They aren’t looking back.”

It comes after Omid Scobie wrote in his tell-all royal book Endgame that there has been “almost zero direct communication, bar a few short pleasantries, between the pair since late 2019.”

Scobie added that for Kate, there is “no going back” — she has no interest in repairing her relationships with her brother-in-law and Meghan.

Another source close to the royal household went on to tell People that Kate is instead choosing to focus her attention on her duties within the royal family, as well as helping to repair the monarchy’s damaged reputation.

She is “taking things seriously,” an insider noted, adding: “And thank goodness for that. She’s very much seen as a player at the centre of team Windsor.”

Things spiralled out of control for the two couples after Harry and Markle sat down with Oprah for a bombshell interview that had royal fans gripped.

During the chat, the couple revealed that someone within the royal family had made “racist” remarks about their son Archie’s skin colour.

The pair have never publicly confirmed the names of the two royals, however, they were eventually leaked in a Dutch translation version of Endgame and revealed to be King Charles and Middleton.

Meghan also claimed during her interview with Oprah that Kate had made her cry while discussing a bridesmaids dress, despite previous reports that it was the other way around.

“I don’t say that to be disparaging to anyone,” Meghan said at the time. “Because it was a really hard week of the wedding, and she was upset about something, but she owned it, and she apologised, and she brought me flowers and a note apologising.”

Meanwhile, according to a new report from Katie Nicholl in Vanity Fair, Kate and Prince William don’t “want to be in the same room” as Harry and Markle, “let alone spend Christmas with them.”

A royal insider told Nicholls earlier this month that despite the King’s wishes for a repared family, it was simply never going to be realistic.

She said: “The king would love nothing more than to have Christmas with his sons and all his grandchildren, but it’s not that simple and there is no chance the Sussexes will be coming. It would make things very difficult because there is still so much hostility towards Harry and Meghan, particularly from the Prince and Princess of Wales”.
