A reality TV star has unloaded on Meghan Markle for “using” and “ghosting” her former friend after she started dating Prince Harry.

Millie Mackintosh, star of the UK reality TV series Made in Chelsea, sensationally claimed that Ms Markle extracted British contacts from her “little black book” before she “kind of told me to f*** off, basically”.

Ms Mackintosh, who revealed their friendship and falling out on this week’s episode of her Mumlemmas podcast, said she wants to “confront” Ms Markle for abruptly ending their friendship.

The pair bonded over their failing marriages after a chance meeting at an Istanbul bar about eight years ago. When Ms Markle visited London, Ms Mackintosh said she showed her around London, shared her “little black book” contacts, and had a ball drinking “rose and margaritas”.

But after Ms Markle announced her relationship with Prince Harry, she was “never heard” from again.

“I messaged her and said ‘Hey I hope you’re OK, thinking of you,’ and she sent me this really abrupt message, that was really unlike any of our communication before,” Millie said.

“Ghosted,” she added. “I think I just wasn’t useful anymore.”

During their short-lived friendship, Ms Markle had just ended her marriage to her first husband Trevor Engelson in 2011 and Ms Mackintosh divorced from rapper Professor Green in 2016.

They connected over “wellness” blogging, were into similar things and hung out “a handful of times”.

“I definitely would say we were not best friends but when she was in town she would let me know and we would sometimes hang out,” she said.

The last time they saw each other was at a Cotswolds hotel in southern England, Ms Mackintosh said she was told about the then-secret relationship with Prince Harry.

“I thought, ‘Great that’s nice for her,’ the podcaster said, adding, “I don’t know [Harry] just to clarify. I never met him.

“I was, like, ‘Great,’ didn’t really ask too much about him. Didn’t really think too much about it at the time. If only I had known.”

After the royal relationship “blew up” in the media, Ms Mackintosh reached out, but [Markle] “just sent me this really abrupt message that was really unlike any of our communication before.”

“What I read from that message was that she maybe needed a bit of space. Maybe needed to cool off, she was angry, she was maybe under a lot of pressure … So I didn’t message her again … But I did expect that we would stay in touch,” she said.

“She cut me dead,” Mackintosh. “I never heard from her again and I never messaged her again because I felt like she kind of told me to f — k off basically in that message. Meghan Markle ghosted me, babe.

“What could I offer her at that point? She had met her prince. I was on a reality show so … I’m guessing she was like, ‘I can’t be associated with ‘Made in Chelsea.’ I’m going to be royal.’”
