Meghan Markle revealed she partnered with Billie Eilish to gift some merch from the Grammy winner’s “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour to a Los Angeles-based teen who lost her home in the recent wildfires.
“About two or three weeks ago, when my husband [Prince Harry] and I were in Altadena, we went to a community where all the homes were left in ashes,” Markle recalled in an Instagram Reel Tuesday.
“This mom had found a couple things and as I was talking to her, I turned and looked and saw this young woman and I said, ‘Oh my gosh, how old are you?’ She’s 15. She lives there.”
The mom told the “Suits” alum that the teen was hoping to find one specific item when they returned to their devastated house for the first time.
“All she’d been looking for in her home was the T-shirt from the Billie Eilish concert that she had just gone to, that she’d left in the washing machine or the dryer,” Markle explained.
“And of course, they now see their home and the washing machine, the dryer are ash. They’re not there anymore.”
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, said that she was motivated to help the young girl get another concert tee.
“I thought of everybody I knew, and I made a voice note and I was like, ‘Please can someone get this voice note to Billie Eilish? Here’s what I’m asking.’”
The “Bad Guy” singer, 23, delivered on the request and sent over several clothing items, as well as a signed vinyl record and a lunch box.
Markle closed the video by sending a “huge thank you” to Eilish, as well as Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and his wife, Behati Prinsloo, for getting her message “over the line.”
“To everyone who has been showing up in big and small ways to get through what’s happened in Calfiornia, just thank you so much,” she concluded the video, which featured a sweet nod to her two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Markle and Harry, 40, have made multiple donations of their time and resources to recovery efforts since the fires began on Jan. 7.
Last month, the couple partnered with José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen Foundation to serve “meals to both first responders and victims of the fire.”
They were also seen distributing food and essentials to victims outside the Pasadena Convention Center.
The “With Love, Meghan” star also donated clothes, beauty products and lunches to adolescents affected by the wildfires through the Altadena Teen Girls organisation.
