‘How babies are made’: Chris Hemsworth’s wild Valentine’s Day video

Aussie star Chris Hemsworth’s Valentine’s Day post gave fans quite the insight into his relationship with wife Elsa Pataky.

Chris Hemsworth posts racy Valentine's Day video

Maybe this one should’ve stayed on the ‘Close friends’ list.

Aussie action hero Chris Hemsworth celebrated Valentine’s Day in unusual – and very public – fashion, sharing a video with his 58-million-odd Instagram followers in which he attempts to, ahem, mount her.

“Happy Valentine’s Day. This year I thought I’d share with you how babies are made in Australia. It’s both a game of passion, love and intense sportsmanship where everyone one’s a winner,” Hemsworth captioned the video, which shows him approaching his apparently unsuspecting wife from behind while they’re both swimming in the ocean.

Thor latches on.

He clasps on to Pataky and wraps his legs around her, grinning as she struggles to get free.

Fans had a somewhat mixed reaction to the playful video, which Hemsworth sountracked with the ethereal Enya classic Only Time.

“Am I the only concerned if she made it to the surface?” one follower asked.

“I knew Australian waters were unsafe, but not this unsafe,” quipped another.

Another fan praised it as the “most creative Valentine’s post I saw all day,” while other reactions ranged from “couple goals” to “TMI.”

Hemsworth, 40, and Spanish actress Pataky, 47, have been married since 2010, having three children in that time.

“It’s all about the friendship first and that sense of adventure,” Hemsworth told Entertainment Tonight of the key to their successful marriage in 2019. “She became an actress, I became an actor, to travel the world and have experiences like this and to have such wonderful support for one another.”

In a 2021 interview with Hola! Magazine, Pataky said of her husband: “We enjoy doing the same stuff and Chris has a great sense of humour and knows how to take the sting out of things.”

“He always makes me and the kids laugh or when I’m angry, he tells a joke to lighten the mood. Humour counts for a lot.

“More than anything, I enjoy laughing with him.”

While the pair are both international movie stars, they largely live a quiet life in their adopted hometown of Byron Bay, where they’re frequently snapped in town living as locals – often barefoot.
