AFTER four years (and two kids) together, Jessica Simpson and ex-NFL player Eric Johnson tied the knot in California over the weekend.
“We are overwhelmed with complete happiness and love having made our eternal commitment,” the couple said in a statement to People magazine.
“To say ‘I do’ in front of family, friends and, most importantly, our children has been the happiest moment of our lives.”
Indeed, the couple’s two children were involved in the ceremony at the exclusive San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito; two-year-old daughter Maxwell was on flower girl duties, while their 12-month-old son Ace acted as a ring bearer.
Also on hand were the couple’s closest family and friends, including the singer’s parents Joe and Tina Simpson, sister Ashlee Simpson and fiance Evan Ross, BFFs CaCee Cobb and celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves, and Jessica Alba and partner Cash Warren. (Ashlee Simpson and CaCee Cobb took on bridesmaid duties.)
Simpson and Johnson made it a week-long celebration for family and friends, celebrating the Fourth of July with a BBQ a day earlier. Guests danced, sang karaoke, and played games. “They all seemed to be having a really good time,” an insider told Us Weekly.
This is the second marriage for both Johnson and Simpson — who wed Nick Lachey in 2002 before divorcing him four years later.
