Hugh Jackman’s new flame Sutton Foster has broken cover days after Deborra-Lee Furness issued a scathing statement about her “traumatic journey of betrayal” while filing for divorce from the Wolverine star.
Broadway actor Foster, 50, attended the Drama Desk Awards in New York where she was nominated for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Musical for her role in Once Upon a Mattress.
Dressed in a sparkling black gown, Foster posed for photographs on the red carpet but avoided media interviews throughout the event.
Foster and Jackman have remained tight-lipped after Australian actor Furness, 69, officially filed for divorce from her partner of almost three decades last week.
After submitting divorce papers, Furness issued a public statement about her split from Jackman, saying: “My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal.”
“It’s a profound wound that cuts deep,” she said.
“It can hurt, but in the long run, returning to yourself and living within your own integrity, values and boundaries is liberation and freedom.”
The statement was a significant departure from the statement issued by Jackman and Furness in 2023 announcing their split, in which they wrote: “We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. “Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”
The following year Foster filed for divorce from her husband of 10 year Ted Griffin, a Hollywood screenwriter.
Jackman, 56, and Foster went public with their relationship in January this year.
Meanwhile, the Aussie star was spotted catching up with fellow Aussie Andy Lee at the New York City pub Old Mates, which is a favourite with expats.
Jackman posted to his Instagram account three pictures, one with his arm around Lee outside the pub, which also features a stained glass window of a kookaburra.
He captioned the post: “Old Mates - how Aussie’s eat in NYC. This pub is amazing!”
And based on his Instagram stories, it appears Jackman had been spending some quality time with Lee and his partner Rebecca Harding at the Audible Theatre in New York’s Greenwich Village.
