Madeleine West is pregnant with her seventh child.
The former Neighbours actress, 45, took to social media Tuesday with the surprising news she’s expecting a baby.
West is already a mother to six children with her ex-husband, celebrity chef Shannon Bennett.
“WHOOPS!,” she began her Instagram post, alongside a selfie showing off her growing bump.
“Thought it was perimenopause, I thought WRONG!
“It’s not too much Christmas pudding either. And I couldn’t be happier.
“Not too sure about the title geriatric mum but here we are, and I’m winding back a little to grow this little surprise package I’ve dubbed 007 (baby number 7, couldn’t help myself.”
West didn’t disclose who the father was.
“I don’t have much more to say right now, but I’ve noticed I don’t hear much about older parents. I know you must be out there,” she continued.
“Just seems we are invisible. So if you’re expecting later than expected, and tackling early parenthood in your 40s or 50s, I’d LOVE [to] hear your stories.”
West, who is based in Byron Bay, finished her post by asking followers to send all their tips and advice regarding necessary newborn items.
“There’s a terrifying new world of contraptions out there and I don’t know where to start!!! HELP!!!!”, she added.
The star has been deeply candid in recent years regarding her 2018 separation from Bennett after 13 years together, as well as her battle with anorexia and mental health issues.
More recently, West was thought to be dating Byron Bay environmentalist Maximo Bottaro, however, the pair haven’t been pictured together since at least December 2023.
West shares Phoenix, Hendrix, Xascha, Xanthe, and twins Xalia and Margaux with Bennett, who is also based in the Byron region.
The Underbelly star alluded to their union becoming “toxic” before they separated in an Instagram post in 2022.
“Separation hurts, it gets dirty, vicious, it can bring out the very worst in you as it brings you to your knees. It tears apart your world, damages the things you hold dearest and turns love toxic. You wouldn’t put your worst enemy through it, let alone the person you promised to love and honour for as long as you both shall live,” West began in the heartfelt post at the time.
West wrote that she “failed” and wished she “knew then what I know now,” speaking of the “crushing loneliness” that followed the split.
“I wish I’d known how hard it would be to be rudderless, to challenge everything I thought I knew about myself and my world. I wish I’d known how hard it would be to re-establish my sense of self when for so long my whole identity revolved around being one half of a duo that was now a solo act,” she wrote.
