One Direction star Liam Payne’s final TV appearance has been revealed in a new Netflix trailer.
Payne will make a posthumous appearance as a judge in the new TV series Building The Band, which shows 50 singers forming six bands without seeing each other.
The singer filmed the series before he died at the age of 31 last October, after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires.
The 10-part series, which has a similar format to The Voice, also features Pussycat Dolls’ Nicole Scherzinger, Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland and Backstreet Boys star AJ McLean.
In the trailer, McLean is heard introducing a screaming audience to the judging panel, with Payne beaming and waving to the crowd.
The One Direction star is also shown in the trailer advising the contestants during their rehearsals, urging one group: “I need to see that connection between you guys.”
Payne shot to fame as one of the members of boy band sensation One Direction alongside Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan.
In the new series, Payne reference the group’s beginnings when they were put together by music mogul Simon Cowell on The X Factor.
“How these bands are put together is not normal,” Payne said.
“We were not put together that way.”
The new series seeks to form a new hit music group, but on voice and connection only, with singers showing off their vocal talent in isolated sound booths.
They will judge their fellow competitors on their raw vocal talents and connection as they decide who they want to form a group with.
Payne wrapped production of the new series last August in Manchester, just two months before his untimely death.
