Disney star Halle Bailey ‘fears ex will kidnap son’

The star of The Little Mermaid made some shocking claims in court as she bids to keep her son away from her famous rapper ex.

Halle Bailey granted custody of son amid DDG abuse allegations

Halle Bailey said she fears her ex DDG is going to kidnap her son Halo, 1, as she begged the court to “suspend visitation” in her abuse restraining order.

The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal that in the Little Mermaid star’s restraining order request, and among her allegations of domestic violence, she also pleaded with the court about her concerns over her ex, DDG aka Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr, potentially abducting their one-year-old.

Halle, 25, alleged in the court papers that her rapper ex has “threatened to take our son without my permission and has tried to do so.”

She asked a judge for orders that can “prevent abduction,” based on several claims she made in her restraining order filing.

The 25-year-old alleged in one incident that she feared her son would not be returned to her by his father, 27, and that she ultimately needed to get lawyers involved to resolve it.

“I have attempted to work with Darryl to set up a schedule for Halo, but he refuses to talk to me and just goes live to blast me to his fans.

“I also continue to try to work with his Mother to try to arrange time for Darryl to be with Halo.

“I was filming in New Jersey last month and arranged for his Mother to come and take Halo to visit with his father,” the Disney star continued.

“In co-ordinating the trip, I learned that Darryl had purchased a one-way ticket for his Mother to come to New Jersey and to take Halo to him.

“He demanded I pay the cost of the return ticket and would not book it.

“I had a lawyer get involved in order to protect our son and draft an agreement to ensure that our son would be returned to me.

“I was glad that I could facilitate the visit, but it created tremendous stress for me and disrupted my work while I was dealing with Darryl’s threats.”

In the agreement that was drafted about the visit and included as an exhibit in the restraining order filing, it said that DDG’s mother was to get Halo from Halle in New Jersey and bring him to Los Angeles.

It said the visit was “expressly conditioned on: Halo being returned to me on April 11, 2025,” as well as their son remaining only in his father and grandmother’s care and that the child remained in Los Angeles during the visit.

The Colour Purple actress also alleged that her ex whips his fans up into a frenzy against her, while at the same time refusing to co-ordinate visits with her for Halo.

She went on to say that DDG started a FREEHALO hashtag which further caused her to fear for her and her son’s safety.

“I also ask the Court to order Darryl to cease and desist from posting and/or streaming on any and all platforms about Halo and/or me, including but not limited to YouTube, Twitch, Tiktok, Instagram, and Twitter/X.

“He is a YouTube and Twitch Blogger and creates a fan frenzy by making false claims about me.

“This has caused me to feel afraid and victimised. His fans then threaten me. I am often scared for my life and Halo’s safety. #freehalo has become a slogan online,” she added.

Halle also claimed that DDG has physically hurt her during arguments, and she included photos of her alleged injuries in the filing.

She said that during one argument in January during an exchange of Halo, in which she claimed things escalated to violence when DDG would not tell her when he would be returning their son.

She claiming in the request, “The next thing I knew, things got physical between us. We fought each other, wresting and tussling. At one point, Darryl was pulling my hair. He then slammed my face on the steering wheel, causing my tooth to get chipped.

“I then stopped fighting back as I was in a lot of pain. I wanted to get out of the car with Halo but was now stuck.”

She said as a result of that incident she had bruises on her arms and a chipped tooth.

The judge has issued a temporary order that granted Halle sole physical and legal custody of Halo.

They also alleged that Halle’s ex was a risk to possibly “take the child without permission.”

The judge ordered that DDG is not allowed to have any visitation with his son until further order of the court.

Halle was also granted a stay-away order for herself against DDG.

TMZ was the first to report on the restraining order.
