American wholesale giant Costco has refuted Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ bizarre excuse for having 1000 bottles of lube at his residence.
Federal agents discovered the vast collection of lubricant and baby oil after executing raids on the disgraced music mogul’s properties in Los Angeles and Miami back in March.
The X-rated discovery forms part of a damning grand jury indictment against Combs, 54, who is currently behind bars in Brooklyn, New York as he awaits trial.
On Thursday, Combs’ lawyer suggested the rapper, who Forbes estimated in 2022 had a net wealth of $US1 billion, buys in bulk at Costco like many other Americans.
“I don’t think it was 1000 (bottles) … I think it was a lot. I mean, there is a Costco right down the street. I think Americans buy in bulk, as we know,” Marc Agnifilo told New York Post.
However, a spokesperson for Costco told TMZ the retailer doesn’t stock baby oil in any of its more than 600 stores across the US.
Their claim appears to check out based on a search of their website, where baby oil isn’t available for purchase.
Last Monday, Combs was charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution.
According to the unsealed grand jury indictment which surfaced last Tuesday, officers uncovered “various Freak Off supplies, including narcotics and more than 1000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant” during the raids at Combs’ properties earlier this year.
Combs is alleged to have led the so-called “Freak Offs”, in which he’s accused of forcing female victims into days-long sexual performances – part of an alleged pattern of abuse dating back more than a decade.
“Freak Offs were elaborate and produced sex performances that Combs arranged, directed, masturbated during, and often electronically recorded,” the unsealed court papers alleged.
Combs would allegedly lure the women into his orbit — often under the pretence of a romantic relationship – before doling out drugs to “keep the victims obedient and compliant,” the indictment states.
Combs is currently detained at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center after his bail was refused for a second time last week, where could remain for up to a year until his trial begins.
