Celebrity baby boom: The stars expecting babies in 2020
From old hands like Karl Stefanovic and Richard Gere becoming dads again to first-timers, it’s shaping up as the year of the celebrity baby. Who is expecting and who has already delivered?

It’s a big year for celebrity babies, with a swathe of A-list additions getting ready to scream into the roaring twenties.
From old-hand dads going for it again, including Karl Stefanovic and Richard Gere, to first-time parents Jesinta and Buddy Franklin and Sylvia Jeffreys and Peter Stefanovic, it’s a new year, new baby boom.
Here are some of the parents to be:
KARL STEFANOVIC AND JASMINE YARBROUGH
After a friend confirmed Today’s Karl Stefanovic and Jasmine Yarbrough’s pregnancy to The Daily Telegraph last month, shoe designer Jasmine, 35, was snapped with a glorious bump in Byron Bay before Christmas.
The couple is said to be over the moon, with the baby expected mid-year. It will be 45-year-old Karl’s fourth child, joining three he has with ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn.
MICHELLE WILLIAMS AND THOMAS KAIL
Another 2020 baby surprise is that of actor Michelle Williams, 39, and director Thomas Kail, 42. It will be her second child, joining Matilda, 14, who she had with Heath Ledger.
Williams recently split from husband Phil Elverum and at The Golden Globes on Sunday, made a heartfelt speech on a woman’s right to choose.
“I wouldn’t have been able to do this without employing a woman’s right to choose,” she said.
“To choose when to have my children and with whom.”
RICHARD GERE AND ALEJANDRA SILVA
He may have just turned 70, but Hollywood royalty Richard is Gering up to add to his brood, announcing he is expecting his second child with Spanish publicist wife Alejandra Silva, 36, this year.
They had their first son Alexander last year, and both have one child with former partners.
LARA AND SAM WORTHINGTON
Lara Worthington, 32, is one model woman – announcing in November she’s expecting her third son with husband Sam Worthington, 43. That’s a lot of Worthington men in one household.
“Yes I’m pregnant,” she told Vogue.
“I’m having a boy, early next year. It’s my third boy, and we’re all very happy. It’s such a boys’ club in my house!”
QUENTIN AND DANIELLA TARANTINO
It’s already turning out to be quite the year for Quentin Tarantino, as Once Upon A Time in Hollywood won three Golden Globes last weekend, but things are only going to get better when the 56-year-old director becomes a dad for the first time with Israeli singer wife Daniella Pick, 36.
He thanked Daniella, “who is pregnant with my very first child,” in his awards speech, adding she was watching from Tel Aviv.
JESINTA AND BUDDY FRANKLIN
Also joining the first-time parents club is Jesinta Franklin, 28 and her Swans star husband Lance, 32. The model, who is in full bloom, is expected to give birth imminently.
It’s all the sweeter as the pair revealed they had been trying to conceive for years, saying,
“We feel truly blessed and grateful that we will have a little angel of our own.”
MILLA JOVOVICH AND PAUL W.S. ANDERSON
The actor was all happy families as she rang in the New Year with a sweet family photo of herself, director husband Paul W.S. Anderson, 54, and two daughters Ever, 12 and Dashiel, 4.
Heavily pregnant with her third child, she’s expecting the new addition shortly.
“To be 44 and pregnant is already such a miracle,” she wrote on Instagram.
RONAN AND STORM KEATING
The Boyzone singer and his designer wife had their first son Cooper in 2017 and last November announced they were expecting baby number two early this year, which will be 42-year-old Ronan’s fifth.
Storm, 38, also shared stunning shots on Instagram of her growing baby bump as the family holidayed in Fiji posting: “2020 – more happiness, more love, more laughter, more sleep, less drama, less stress, I’m ready.”
We think the sleep part is optimistic.
CHRIS NOTH AND TARA WILSON
We wonder what Carrie has to say to the news that Big, aka Chris Noth, 65, is expecting his second son with Canadian actor wife Tara Wilson, 37.
He announced on Instagram that his son Orion was getting a brother early this year.
And it looks like fatherhood suits the Sex and the City star, with the actor posting a photo of him and Orion saying, “already have the greatest gift a dad could want”.
TURIA PITT AND MICHAEL HOSKIN
Humanitarian Turia Pitt is also expanding her family, with her second child due early this year. The 32-year-old burns survivor has one son, Hakavai, 2, with ex-police officer fiance Michael Hoskin and told Stellar that two kids are double the luck.
“I feel like if you have one child, you’re really lucky – if you have two, you’re even luckier,” she said.
SYLVIA JEFFREYS AND PETER STEFANOVIC
Handily, Karl and Jasmine’s offspring will have a cousin the same age, which means playdates are sorted, as brother Peter Stefanovic, 38 and wife Sylvia Jeffreys, 33, prepare to welcome their first child.
The journalist duo has been posting happy snaps of their growing family on Instagram, with one reading: “Happy Christmas to all, from all four of us (including Pete’s lasagne bump).”
