JORDAN Papalia made her debut at the Brownlow last year and left on the arm of the winner and as one of the red carpet’s best dressed.
The partner of Gold Coast Suns captain Gary Ablett is set to shine again in the spotlight tonight.
“Because Gaz was favourite (last year) that was my primary focus and we just went in with no expectations but to have a good night,’’ Papalia said.
“It is a shame (he was injured) but he’s still definitely a chance to win it. He had an incredible season but we’ll just have to wait and see.’’
Melbourne-based Papalia is being dressed by stylist Lana Wilkinson who has chosen a frock by Anthony Montesano of Signor Mont Couture. “Gaz doesn’t get nervous,’’ she said.
“He’s really looking forward to catching up with his mates.”

Despite missing the last seven weeks of the season due to injury, experts and punters alike believe Ablett is a strong chance to have “Charlie’’ hung around his neck a third time.
Geelong captain and Ablett’s 2007 premiership team mate Joel Selwood is the bookie’s favourite to win football’s greatest individual honour.
But triple Brownlow medallist Bob Skilton reckons Ablett did enough in the first 16 rounds of the season to win again. “I think Gary might have enough on the board,’’ he said.
“I know he was injured but I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if he has the score up and that just goes to show what a wonderful player he is.’’
As AFL stars suit up for a party, betting agencies are gearing up for a punting splurge tonight.
Industry analyst IBISWorld said betting on the Brownlow was topped only by wagers made during the Melbourne Cup carnival.
Betting giant TAB alone expects to hold $1.5 million on Brownlow betting tonight.
Selwood was yesterday the $2.50 Brownlow favourite with TAB ahead of Ablett ($3.50) who at $1.60 was the shortest ever player at Round 16 before being injured.
TAB spokesman Adam Hamilton said late money was coming for Hawthorn’s Jordan Lewis, Essendon’s Dyson Heppell and Port Adelaide’s Robbie Gray ($6) who started the season at $501 and was $101 when Ablett was injured.
“It’s got all the hallmarks of a classic Brownlow count,’’ he said.
