TIME magazine has been forced to defend itself after Hillary Clinton appeared to have devil horns on the cover in the US.
The magazine’s graphic designers positioned her silhouette on top of the ‘M’ in TIME, which unfortunately looks to some like the potential presidential candidate has horns.
The cover story is entitled The Clinton Way and looks at Ms Clinton and her husband, Bill, and their history of bending rules to advance their political ambitions.
“They write their own rules. Will it work this time?” Time questions.
“Along with her husband — the 42nd President of the United States — Hillary Clinton is the co-creator of a soap-operatic political universe in which documents vanish, words like “is” take on multiple meanings and foes almost always overplay their hand,” author David von Drehle writes.
However the magazine came out and not only rejected the idea that it was implying something devilish about Ms Clinton but reminded people of 34 times their cover star looked a little ‘horny’.
“Given the shape of the letter “m” in the magazine’s name and its location on the cover, many other subjects in the past have also appeared to sprout extra features (in fact this happened to Hillary Clinton at least once before,” the magazine said. “Same goes for Bill Clinton. George W. Bush too). Check out everyone from Margaret Thatcher to Pope Francis to Jesus to Darth Vader who have received the rough end of TIME’s “horns.” Any resemblance to cats, bats or devil horns is entirely coincidental.”
