Sofia Vergara reveals she’s considering hypnosis to cure ‘candy obsession’

THERE’S no question about it, Sofia Vergara is 42 and absolutely fabulous.

But the Modern Family actress, who stuns on the cover of Shape magazine’s November issue, admits she has a serious weakness when it comes to her diet.

Believe it or not, Vergara is “obsessed” with all things sugar and says she’s willing to go to extremes to kick the sweet habit to the curb, including hypnosis.

“I heard about someone in LA who got hypnotized so they wouldn’t eat candy. I’m seriously looking into that because I’m obsessed,” she tells Shape.

“When I do indulge, I exercise a bit harder the next day. My workout motto is really simple: No pain, no cake!”

The Colombian-born star rocks a black bikini and V-neck top on the cover of the magazine and opens up about feeling comfortable in her skin and embracing her figure in her 40s.

“Everyone knows that I’ve never been into working out. I was always very happy with what I have. I mean, like any woman I’d complain that my thighs were too big or whatever, but I felt comfortable with my curves” she tells Shape of her famous figure.

“Then I hit 40 and started seeing a softness everywhere on my body … I knew it was time to do something.”

So what’s the brunette beauty’s exercise regime? Vergara has been using the Megaformer machine, which is based on Pilates and the Strengthen, Lengthen and Tone philosophy. She also lifts free weights and drinks vegetable juices.

The A-lister works with celebrity trainer Jennifer Yates and credits co-star Julie Bowen with inspiring her to work out.

She’s also fresh off the back of Modern Family’s fifth Emmy win for Outstanding Comedy Series, and currently dating People’s Sexiest Man Alive, Joe Manganiello. Safe to say, 2014 has been a good year for Vergara so far.
