French magazine owner calls Leonardo DiCaprio a ‘pervert’ with a ‘racial issue’ after actor wins lawsuit

LEONARDO DiCaprio has won a lawsuit against a French mag. And not learning his lesson — the mag’s owner has described the actor very colourfully.

LEONARDO DiCaprio has won a lawsuit against a French magazine after editors printed a false story about the actor and pop star Rihanna in May.

The Wolf of Wall Street star filed the lawsuit against Oops! magazine in June after the publication ran a cover story alleging the movie star had impregnated the singer — and wanted nothing to do with her or the baby.

The actor’s lawyer called the story “pure fantasy”, and sought damages of $US28,800 ($A38,871.64), which is the maximum allowed under French law.

A French court has sided with DiCaprio in the suit, reports GossipCop.com.

The GossipCop report says the court ruled magazine editors violated the country’s strict right to privacy laws by publishing information about the actor’s personal life.

Frederic Truskolaski, an owner of Oops! and a defendant in the lawsuit, has opened up about the case to the website, saying, “We were totally expecting this decision, since in France when any magazine speaks about a celebrity’s private life the magazine is automatically condemned.”

But Truskolaski didn’t stop there.

The website reports he said DiCaprio’s “a pervert” because of the actor’s rumoured romances with young models. He then added he suspects the star’s lawsuit was fuelled by a “racial issue”.

“DiCaprio almost systematically goes out with Aryan-type girls, always blonde hair,” he reportedly told the site.

“He could not stand the fact that our magazine was saying he was having a baby with a black girl.”

GossipCop.com reports the publication’s owners must hand over $US8,814 ($A11,896.34) to DiCaprio in damages and legal fees.

In addition, editors must also acknowledge the Hollywood star won the lawsuit in an upcoming issue.
