One of Sydney’s social set’s most well-liked couples is expecting their first child.
Bobby Oatley, the grandson of the late sailing winemaker Bob Oatley, and his wife, creative Xanthe Wetzler, have revealed they will become parents in coming weeks, with Xanthe believed to be in her third trimester.
Wetzler took to Instagram this week to share some candid snaps of her burgeoning belly alongside the heartfelt caption, “thinking of anyone who may still be on their journey”.
The sweet post was met with hundreds of comments from friends and fans congratulating the popular couple.
“The coolest of them all. Love you both so much. Mum and dad,” wrote Bambi Northwood Blyth.
Kate Waterhouse wrote: “Beautiful news. Congratulation.”
Bobby Oatley and his wife are close friends with a number of high-society figures, including pilates queen Bernadette Fahey, interior designer Tamsin Johnson and Melbourne personality Patch Garnaut.
The couple tied the knot in a low-key wedding in February, 2021.
