Billie Eilish puts Kanye West in his place with spectacular Coachella set

The world’s biggest music festival is currently underway in the US state of California. But there’s no need for FOMO - watch Coachella live right here.

Billie Eilish has put West in his place with a spectacular headline performance at the world’s biggest music festival, Coachella.

West hit out at 20-year-old Eilish when the 2022 line-up was announced earlier this year, calling on her to apologise to Travis Scott after allegedly dissing him during a concert.

Scott was taken off the Coachella line-up after 10 people died and hundreds more were injured when he performed at Astroworld Music Festival while West was to headline tonight but has been replaced on the bill by The Weeknd.

If Eilish was nervous, she didn’t show it. She captivated the 125,000 strong crowd watching live and millions more online from the first beat, wearing a giant marshmallow-like puffer jacket.

“This is a f***ing trip,” she said, pulling her hair back with her signature pigtails and wearing comfortable sneakers, bike shorts and an over-size T-shirt.

The performance put to rest any criticism of Eilish’s 2019 Coachella performance, during which she forgot lyrics and tripped on stage.

Eilish's brother, Finneas, who performed with her at the recent Academy Awards, joined his sister on stage.

“He is my best friend and we make everything together,” she said, stripping back the stadium gig for a moment.

Later, she said: “It is really important that we remember not to abuse our power and to protect young girls.”

Blur and Gorillaz’ Damon Albarn also joined her for a song.

Two hours earlier, Australian chart topper Flume performed on the same stage. Meanwhile, Harry Styles headlined Friday night and Swedish House Mafia and The Weeknd play tonight.

Coachella is revered for its superstar line-up each and every year, gaining a throng of top talent due to its proximity to Los Angeles, which also makes it hugely popular for Hollywood stars to attend as punters.
