Australian TV’s night of nights is almost upon us, with a popular international singer announced as part of the entertainment line-up.

UK performer James Bay will hit the stage for the 2024 TV Week Logies, which are being held at The Star in Sydney on August 18.

The Grammy nominated artist, best known for hits including Hold Back the River and Let It Go, said he was thrilled to be heading down under for the awards, which will broadcast on Channel 7.

“I’m so excited to be coming back to Australia for the second time this year,” Bay said in a statement.

“Australia has always been a special place to me and look forward to performing on The Logies’ stage.”

Elsewhere, organisers for the Logies also announced a string of presenters tasked with giving out awards at the ceremony.

They include Home and Away veteran Ray Meagher and his former co-star turned radio host Kate Ritchie, Sunrise host Matt Shirvington, Today host Sarah Abo and Gold Logie nominee Larry Emdur, among others.

Comedian Sam Pang is sensationally returning to the stage as host after getting rave reviews for his witty performance at the helm last year.

Seven celebrated its biggest Logies ratings win since 2017 with Pang’s involvement – the awards reaching more than 3.6 million households across Channel 7 and 7plus.

“Adding to the excitement, Seven have also given me the green light to try new things this year so I’m really looking forward to displaying my under-appreciated and severely undeveloped song and dance skills,” Pang said in a statement in June.

As for the coveted Gold Logie, which was awarded to Seven star Sonia Kruger last year, prime time newcomer Robert Irwin has been nominated after his debut on Ten’s I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! earlier this year.

His co-host Julia Morris is also up for the gong, while Kruger has landed another nomination.

The Chase’s Larry Emdur, ABC presenter Tony Armstrong and Nine host Andy Lee round out the talent up for the Gold.

There are also some slight changes made to the categories for the upcoming 64th awards.

Three awards will continue to be presented as ‘Most Popular’ – Most Popular Personality on Australian Television, the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter, and the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent – while the remaining 20 awards will be named “Best” which combines the “Most Popular” and “Most Outstanding” categories from previous years.
