Paulini Curuenavuli has officially confirmed her engagement.
Singer and actor Paulini, who shot to fame after appearing on the first season of Australian Idol recently sparked rumours in the media after she was spotted wearing a sparkling diamond ring at a film premiere in Sydney.
Officially confirming the news to Confidential, Paulini who has kept details of her relationship under wraps says she is “happily in a relationship.”
“I don’t really talk about it,” Paulini told Confidential.
The engagement with her partner—whose name remains unknown—comes after Paulini shared the emotional toll a past relationship took on her in a 2018 court letter.
“I went through a very traumatic break-up from a tumultuous relationship,” she wrote.
“I am embarrassed to say this was not the first relationship I had been in involving domestic violence and low self-esteem.”
Rarely posting her partner to social media, it is unknown when the pair became a couple.
As Hannah Montana famously said, “everybody makes mistakes”, and Paulini is no exception, having faced trouble with the law for several years over driving offences.
“I think those things always make you stronger and you learn from them,” she said.
“You keep moving forward.”
In November 2023, the singer was caught driving with a suspended license, marking the latest chapter in her troubled driving history.
It came seven years after she was handed a six-month license suspension for attempting to bribe a government employee to obtain a fake driver’s license.
At the time, Paulini had also racked up 11 driving offences despite having only ever held a learner driver’s licence.
“You can’t let things like that define who you are,” she added.
“I’m a hard worker and I’ve always tried to do things right.
“No one’s perfect.”
The singer is currently gearing up to headline The Music of James Bond & The 60s, performing alongside an eight-piece band and vocal group, The Martinis.
“I’ve never performed these songs before so it’s going to be interesting.”
Despite being a seasoned performer, Paulini admits she still gets nervous when tackling new challenges on stage.
“It’s always nerve wracking when you’re trying something new but I truly am excited about it because I’ve always found the soundtrack very mysterious,” she added.
“But it’s all going to be very exciting and there will be a great crowd.”
The brand new show will tour around Sydney in coming months, opening on April 4 at Penrith Panthers, followed by Arthouse Theatre Wyong on May 24, the Pavilion Performing Arts Centre Sutherland on June15 and Norths Cammeray on June 21.
