They have performed on the sails of the Opera House and down the side of the AMP building. Now Sydney physical acrobatic troupe, Legs On The Wall, are tackling the regular Opera House stage for a spectacular week-long season in collaboration with South Korean performance group, AsiaNow.

Tale Of Samulnori is a modern Korean fable which tells the story of four children cast with saving the world from destruction by climate change.

Sent by their father to the four corners of the world, they must undertake a series of challenges in the form of aerial feats, extreme hoola hooping, tightrope walking and fire to retrieve instruments, which when played together will slay the ash monster.

The story carries a strong environmental theme but with traditional elements, Legs On The Wall executive producer, Kath Melbourne says.
“The collaboration melds traditional Korean storytelling with contemporary Australian acrobatics with great success, it’s quite beautifully done,” she said.

On Friday, World Environment Day, children from Lindfield East Public School school will connect with children at their Korean sister school, Naeri elemantary School in Busan, through video conferencing to workshop the themes of World Environment Day using this performance as a basis for discussion.

The production will play to school groups at the Opera House today, tomorrow and Friday and will be open to the public this weekend.
