Pop superstar Ariana Grande has touched down in Sydney, arriving to a flurry of excited fans keen to get a glimpse of the actor and five-time platinum artist.
Hundreds of people lined the walkway at Sydney’s International Terminal to see Grande who arrived in a pink ensemble.
Surrounded by her entourage, Grande signed autographs and took photos with the adoring fans who showed up before leaving swiftly.
Ms Grande is in Sydney to attend the Australian premiere of the film Wicked, in which she stars as Glinda at the State Theatre on November 3rd.
As Wicked is the prequel to The Wizard of Oz, Grande said it’s only fitting the premiere tour kicks off in Australia.
“We are starting in Oz… it’s Oz in Oz,” said Grande who stars as Glinda.
The 31-year-old said she is looking forward to her stay in Australia and showing off the new film to her fans.
“We’re are very grateful and we’re so excited to share this with our fans here.”
The singer-turned-actor walked through Sydney Airport alongside Wicked co-stars Cynthia Erivo, Ethan Slater and Marissa Bode.
A super fan who couldn’t miss the opportunity was Claudia Pace, 21, who flew in from Brisbane to see her music idol.
“I’ve been a fan of her since I was eight years old, so being up close and personal with her was insane,” Ms Pace said.
Ms Pace flew in at 6am and waited nearly four hours but said it was all worth it because Grande took the time to sign her vinyl Positions album and to take a selfie with her.
Fellow superfan, tribute singer Holly Ariana also couldn’t believe she got to meet her idol.
“She’s such a beautiful person and is so talented … she’s changed my life”.
Ms Ariana held a sign that displayed “Ari please draw my tattoo heart”.
Although Grande didn’t draw a heart, she autographed the sign, which was just as good for the lifelong fan who said she might get that tattooed instead.
