After a difficult few years following the public breakdown of her 21-year marriage to Karl Stefanovic, Cassandra Thorburn has found new purpose.
Thorburn, who gave up her career as a journalist/producer to raise Stefanovic’s three children, is working as a dental receptionist and assistant on Sydney’s north shore.
The new job comes after Thorburn left her job as communications officer at a children’s shelter and took a job as a carer to the elderly at Daughterly Care during Covid.
“After the first lockdown in 2020, Cass realised there were a lot of isolated older people nearby, including her two neighbours, women in their eighties,” a family friend said last week.
When the couple’s daughter Willow sat for her HSC in 2022, Thorburn decided to switch jobs to be closer to home. Youngest son River is due to sit his HSC next year.
CLARIFICATION
Some readers may have gleaned the impression from a column published on January 28 that Jasmine Yarbrough usurped Cassandra Thorburn as Karl Stefanovic’s partner prior to her separation with Mr Stefanovic in 2016.
This is not the case.
We are pleased to clarify that Ms Yarbrough did not meet her future husband until 2017.
