Former rugby union players Adam Ashley-Cooper and Drew Mitchell have celebrated their 40th birthdays in Hugh Hefner style.
The ex-Wallaby stars wore matching red robes, aviator sunglasses and Hefner’s trademark sailor’s caps for the big bash.
Their partners Anna Scrimshaw and Body By Berner trainer Charlotte Barge completed the look by dressing as playboy bunnies.
The theme, “what do you want to be when you grow up” was taken very seriously by guests, who included pilates guru Bernadette Fahey (who went as Catwoman) and her new boyfriend Jordan Sukkar; Kurtley Beale and pregnant wife Maddi; celebrity accountant Anthony Bell; and The Bachelor couple Anna and Tim Robards.
Several images shared to social media show the duo and their friends partying well into the night at the Charing Cross Hotel in Waverley.
Post-speeches, the retired sportsmen drank beer from an ice sculpture which had the words “We’re f..king 40” engraved in the middle.
The event also marked the first time Barge and Mitchell had been seen together, after previously breaking up.
“They had broken up for a while and this was their first public appearance together,” one insider said.
“It’s clear the relationship is very much back on.”
