AFTER a long day in the eye of the Jackson Jive media storm, Harry Connick Jr and Daryl Somers shared a drink at a private dinner at exclusive Sydney restaurant Buon Ricordo on Thursday night.

Somers was a last-minute guest at the get-together which was hosted by the American crooner's Australian record label boss, Sony chairman Denis Handlin.

Handlin had planned the get-together weeks ago but put in a call for Somers to join the Sony function at Connick's request.

Connick is believed to have wanted to thank Somers for "being gracious" in giving the singer air-time after he objected to the blackface sketch during the controversial Hey, Hey It's Saturday reunion show on Wednesday night.
