NSW Health is investigating reports that four staff members attended an anti-lockdown protest in Sydney last weekend.
The ministry on Friday night confirmed it was making the inquiries.
“NSW Health agencies are aware of reports of four staff who it is claimed attended the lockdown protest,” it said in a statement.
“Each report is being investigated and any individuals found to have breached the code of conduct will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action.”
An estimated 3500 people marched through central Sydney on Saturday, July 25, calling for an end to the lockdown restrictions in place to curb the spread of the Delta variant of Covid-19.
Dozens of people have now been charged and more than 100 penalty infringement notices have been handed out, with NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller revealing earlier this week that authorities had received more than 10,000 tip-offs from the public about the protest.
Commissioner Fuller has warned Sydney residents against attending similar demonstrations in the future, saying that any protesters this weekend would be met by “up to 1000 police”.
NCA NewsWire contacted Health Minister Brad Hazzard’s office for comment and was directed to the statement from NSW Health.
