NSW Covid updates: Byron, Tweed lockdown lifted as state records 863 cases

Lockdown will be lifted for two NSW regions at midnight as the state recorded 863 new Covid cases.

Seven people died from Covid in the latest reporting period, four women and three men. The youngest was a man from Dubbo in his 40s.

On Tuesday, Health Minister Brad Hazzard revealed Byron and Tweed LGAs would have stay-at-home orders lifted at midnight on Tuesday.

He said Kempsey would likely have its lockdown extended, with health authorities considering stay-at-home orders for Port Macquarie and Muswellbrook.

An announcement will me made later today confirming the stay-at-home orders for any new areas.
