Sydney has been split in three for Christmas with separate restrictions for the north Northern Beaches, south Northern Beaches and Greater Sydney regions issued by NSW Health.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced on Wednesday that the northern and southern ends of the peninsula will each have their own lockdown limitations enforced.
Greater Sydney restrictions will remain the same but children aged under 12 will be allowed in addition to ten adult visitors at homes from tomorrow until December 26.
After Boxing Day the maximum number of visitors will return to 10 with no exceptions for children.
On the Northern Beaches, residents north of the Narrabeen Bridge and east of the Baha’i temple on Mona Vale Rd can either visit the homes of others who live in the same zone or can host five other people — including children — from the same zone.
If you live south of the bridge — including areas from Dee Why to Manly — you can host up to 10 guests in the one household, however only the same 10 people all day.
“If you‘re a resident of the northern part of the Northern Beaches, if you live north of the Narrabeen Bridge and east of the Baha’i Temple at Mona Vale Rd, you cannot leave your area. You are still in lockdown,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“You can‘t accept anybody outside your community, and I apologise for that, but we have to maintain a lockdown in that area.”
Ms Berejiklian stated that on December 24, 25 and 26, residents in the north zone will be able to host five guests at their home if they are residents of the same zone.
For the southern part of the Northern Beaches on those dates, residents will be able to have 10 people into their home, plus an unrestricted number of children under 12.
“You can‘t leave the area, but you can have other people come in from other parts of Greater Sydney, but you can’t leave,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“Essentially you have the same lockdown conditions in the southern parts of the Northern Beaches with the exception that you can have 10 people in your home and part of that can be from outside the Northern Beaches area.
“You‘re still subject to essentially those four reasons why you can leave home.”
