Boxing champion Anthony Mundine has been fined again for breaching Covid-19 restrictions after an alleged incident at a shop in southwest Sydney yesterday.

About 2.20pm on Tuesday police allege 46 year-old Mundine entered a shop at Kingsgrove Road and Richland Street, Kingsgrove, where an employee asked him to put on a mask.

Mundine allegedly refused the request, claiming he was exempt from wearing one, and also refused to scan a QR code and register his details.

He then bought something and left a short time later.

Police visited the shop about 7:45pm last night after being told about the incident, before calling in at Mundine‘s South Hurstville home.

Detectives issued him a penalty infringement notice for not complying with the public health order.

It comes as the second time Mundine has broken Covid rules after he was fined earlier this month for allegedly flying to Ballina from Sydney without reasonable excuse.

Mundine, now retired, has come under fire previously for his controversial views, including posting Covid conspiracy theories and encouraging people to attend protests against lockdown.
