Sydneysiders have no excuses to put on the Covid kilos this lockdown as The Daily Telegraph reveals how your home already has everything you need for a full body workout.

Personal trainer Daniel Ucchino explains how a broomstick, soccer ball and school backpacks can help you and the kids improve your fitness this lockdown.

Ucchino, father-of-three and owner of The Athletic Buddha Gym and Fitness centre says while gyms have closed there is still no excuse to stop working out at home.

“For the average person that’s looking to get started or is a bit of casual trainer there’s plenty of things they can use around the house,” Mr Ucchino said.

“You can use a ladder for running inside and outside the spaces or you can use backpacks for added weight with a squat.”

“Don’t use the excuse that you can’t work out at home because you don’t have the right equipment.”

Ucchino says exercise has never been more important “for people both physically and mentally”.

“At a time when many of us in lockdown are home schooling and juggling work, it’s really important to look after both your physical and mental health,” Mr Ucchino said.

“We’re getting ourselves moving, creating some endorphins and taking our mind off things that are stressful or not going to plan.”

“Because people are sitting a lot more and pantry’s are more accessible during the day it’s an important time to exercise.”

“Plus, it’s a good way to break up the day and keep the family moving.”
