A second child has seemingly contracted COVID-19 at a Prestons trampoline park after visiting the venue at the same time as a previously reported coronavirus case.
It’s believed the child contracted the virus at the Flip Out Prestons Indoor Trampoline Park on October 25.
The case was detected after 8pm on Saturday, so will be included in Monday’s official COVID numbers.
It’s the sixth case connected with the recent Hoxton Park cluster and the second child likely to have contracted the virus at the Flip Out venue on October 25.
Anyone who was at the venue from 11am to 2pm last Sunday must now get tested and self-isolate until Sunday November 8.
Anyone who was at the venue after 2pm must monitor for symptoms.
Meanwhile NSW Health has issued an urgent call for anyone who was at a Liverpool restaurant last Sunday to immediately get tested.
A positive COVID case — first reported last Wednesday — attended the Jasmins1 Lebanese Restaurant on Sunday October 25.
“Although contact tracing is well underway, details of some people who also attended during this time were unavailable,” NSW Health said in a statement.
Anyone at the restaurant for at least an hour must get tested and isolate for 14 days since they were there.
A representative for Jasmin1 restaurant today told The Telegraph they had tried to cooperate with NSW Health as best as possible including by handing over a list of patrons after authorities first attended the venue.
A COVID warning has been issued for Spendless Shoes at Liverpool Westfield on October 28. Anyone who was there between 4pm and 4.20pm must monitor for symptoms.
No new local cases were detected in the 24 hours to 8pm on Saturday but four cases in hotel quarantine were recorded.
The cases were detected in 14,751 tests.
COVID pushes Christmas carols to go virtual
Although many community Christmas carols are already cancelled, you now have the chance to dance along to Jingle Bell Rock in your home.
With coronavirus advice that prevents people singing in groups of more than five, Christmas carols will be sung a little differently this year, with Best And Less announcing the first virtual carols event.
Hosted by Natalie Bassingthwaighte, the free virtual Christmas event will be held on Sunday December 6 and live-streamed on the Best And Less Instagram page.
The aim is to bring some Christmas spirit into Aussie loungerooms.
Bassingthwaighte said she is “very excited” to be hosting an event that will bring joy after a very difficult year.
“I know for me, and I’m sure for so many other people, this has probably been the most difficult 10 months of their lives,” Bassingthwaighte said.
“So it’s important for us to open our minds and really think about what else we can do to bring smiles to families and kids’ faces to let them know we’re here to support them.”
Those signing up to the event can expect to see reigning The Voice winner Chris Sebastian, singer-songwriter Johnny Ruffo and children’s entertainers The Fairies on their screens.
“While everyone is doing it tough, the music and arts industry has been hit particularly hard so to bring something like this event, it is integral to support local artists,” Bassingthwaighte said. “I don’t know when any mid to large scale music events will be back so events like this are important to keep the industry going.”
The Bestest Virtual Christmas Carols will also be raising money for Drought Angels.
