No student will be required to wear a mask in schools from the start of next month as part of changes to Covid restrictions.
Primary school teachers however will need to wear masks until March 7.
Changes to how year groups mingle are also expected to be announced by Premier Dominic Perrottet and Education Minister Sarah Mitchell this morning.
The state government has been reviewing its Covid restrictions for schools — including the use of rapid antigen tests by students.
