Coronavirus NSW: QLD bans Liverpool, Campbelltown residents

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has moved to ban entry to NSW residents from two Sydney COVID hot spot areas from midday today, impacting 77 suburbs. SEE THE LIST OF BANNED SUBURBS

Warning issued as hundreds of Victorians are turned away at Qld border

NSW residents who have travelled to or live in suburbs within Liverpool and Campbelltown will be banned from entering Queensland under strict new border measures.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk this morning announced that from midday, anyone from these local government areas will not be able to enter Queensland.

The regions have now been declared “COVID-19 hot spots” and travellers who try to cross the border will be turned away, she said.

“Travellers who have been in a COVID-19 hotspot within the past 14 days can’t quarantine in Queensland and will be turned away at our borders.”

“Queenslanders who have been in a COVID-19 hotspot within the past 14 days are required to hotel quarantine at their own expense.”

CAMPBELLTOWN LGA SUBURBS BANNED:

The Campbelltown local government area is home to more than 170,000 people and spans 35 suburbs in Sydney’s south-west.

Suburbs within the area include:

Bardia, Blair Athol, Blairmont, Bow Bowing, Bradbury

Campbelltown, Claymore

Denham Court

Eagle Vale, Englorie Park, Eschol Park

Gilead, Glen Alpine, Glenfield

Kearns, Kentlyn

Leumeah, Long Point

Macquarie Fields, Macquarie Links, Menangle Park, Minto, Minto Heights

The Liverpool local government area covers 42 suburbs across a 306 square kilometre area.
