‘Anti-vax’ mask row outside Enmore coffee shop caught on video

An altercation over mask wearing outside a popular coffee shop in Sydney’s inner-west has been caught on camera.

A row between two men over mask wearing outside a popular inner-west cafe - with one man running to avoid being doused in hot coffee - has been captured on video.

Onlookers who saw the spat just before 10am on Friday morning, said it started because a customer called out another customer for not wearing a mask to collect his takeaway from Black Market Coffee on Enmore Road.

Before the video began rolling, the man with the white mask allegedly said something along the lines of: “Can you just put on a mask and do the right thing”, to the man in the beanie.

The man wearing the beanie turned and started allegedly shouting continuously: “You‘re brainwashed by the news, man”.

This back-and-forth continued for about 20 seconds before the video began.

“You wanna swear at me, mate? You wanna swear at me?” the man in the beanie said.

At this point when things began to escalate, the man wearing the white mask begins filming: “Just keep away from me without your mask on mate”.

The man in the beanie responds aggressively: “Do you wanna abuse me? Do you want to have a go?”

“Just leave your mask on when you’re around people. You’ve got your mask off again. Just put it on when you’re around people. It’s that simple,” the man wearing the white mask said.

At this point, the man in the beanie turns to walk away, before he picks up his order from the floor and aggressively walks back with a hot coffee cup raised in his right hand.

An onlooker says: “He’s coming back again, watch out”.

The man wearing the white mask runs across the road to avoid the man in the beanie, with the raised hot coffee cup.

The man in the beanie ends up leaving.

After the video stopped rolling, the man with the white mask apologised to onlookers.

He told them his friend lost his 90-year-old mother recently to Covid and was angry “anti-vaxxers” were not abiding by the laws.
