SARINA May King allegedly stole $4900 from an elderly charity worker at the tail end of a six-week crime spree.

The 70-year-old man was selling $2 raffle tickets for the Kids With Cancer Foundation in Broadway shopping centre last month when King allegedly took the money, which was in a plastic container, while a male accomplice distracted the charity worker.

King, 39, was arrested last month and when she appeared at Hornsby Local Court charged with the theft, it was revealed she faced a total of 11 stealing offences which began on January 7 with the theft of a woman's handbag at Burwood.

She has allegedly stolen handbags, purses and cash from women in Eastgardens, Ryde, Kingsford, Liverpool, Ashfield and Chatswood.

King, of Ermington, did not apply for bail and it was formally refused. Her case was adjourned until March 6 at Central Local Court.

Her alleged accomplice, Scott Timothy Gardner, 45, has appeared at Bankstown Local Court, where he did not apply for bail, which had previously been refused.
