WHILE the rest of the world takes in the horror of the Brussels terror attacks, the men vying for the US Republican presidential nomination have taken to Twitter to trade insults.
The subject of billionaire businessman Donald Trump’s anger is an ad he thought opponent Ted Cruz used of Mr Trump’s wife Melania.
Mr Trump tweeted he would “spill the beans” on Mr Cruz’s wife, Heidi, over an ad that Trump believed used photos from his wife Melania Trump’s photoshoot with magazine GQ.
“Lyin’ Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad. Be careful, Lyin’ Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!”

However, he may have gotten his wires crossed. The ads Mr Trump has taken issue with were not being included in Mr Cruz’s campaign.
The ad that featured Melania Trump was reportedly part of a campaign from the group “Make America Awesome”. The group is targeting Mormon voters in this week’s Utah primary.
The picture was an accurate one of Mrs Trump, albeit one taken 15 years ago.
US media report it wasn’t immediately obvious what “beans” Mr Trump was threatening to spill on Heidi Cruz.
According to the Post, she left a job at Goldman Sachs to support her husband’s presidential bid.
In response, Mr Cruz said the ad was not one of his — and labelled Mr Trump “a coward”.
Pic of your wife not from us. Donald, if you try to attack Heidi, you're more of a coward than I thought. #classless https://t.co/0QpKSnjgnE

Trump has previously dragged Hillary Clinton’s husband Bill Clinton into the presidential dogfight although he is, of course, a former president himself.
Political spouses and families are usually a no-go area for criticism as public figures seek to protect their loved ones.
