Network Ten boss Beverley McGarvey has been involved in an embarrassing email blunder after she thanked staff from programs including the axed show Studio 10 for their involvement in the station’s grand prix coverage.

In a message sent to employees at Ten on Monday afternoon, she said: “We had a massive weekend across the business with both Formula One and I’m A Celebrity broadcast across our platforms”.

“A special shout out to the sport team who worked tirelessly in the lead up to the event as well as the news, Studio 10, Project, 10 Play, operations, technology and social teams who executed special live coverage, bulletins and interviews in the lead up and across the weekend,” the email correspondence seen by The Australian said.

Ten has the broadcast rights to the Formula One in Melbourne and also airs I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here Australia which returned to the screens on Sunday night.

But within minutes of the email being sent, Ten recalled Ms McGarvey’s correspondence and removed any reference to Studio 10.

The email was resent soon after without mentioning the defunct program.

The program was axed in November last year after airing for a decade – it was hit by falling ratings and budget pressures.

Hosts Tristan McManus and Angela Bishop confirmed at the time Studio 10 would not return in 2024.

The email blunder comes just one week after Paramount Global – the American owner of Network Ten – announced Ms McGarvey had been appointed the president of Network Ten, head of streaming and regional lead.

Pam Kaufman, president & chief executive officer of international markets, global consumer products and experiences said after the appointment was revealed: “Beverley is one of Australia’s leading media executives and has a proven track record of driving creative and commercial success in one of our most important, priority markets.”

Ten would not comment when asked about the email correspondence.

Up to 60 jobs at Ten have been cut according to recent media reports.

Ten’s local chief operating officer, Jarrod Villani, also parted ways with the media company as it continues to cut costs.
