THE Australian dollar is lower after the European Central Bank reaffirmed its commitment to jump start the region’s economy.
At 0630 AEDT on Friday, the local dollar was trading at 85.48 US cents, down from 85.84 cents on Thursday.
ECB president Mario Draghi said the bank’s policy team was unanimous in its commitment to using additional unconventional instruments to boost growth.
