The truth about Aldi’s controversial kitchen tap — lab results disclosed

AUSSIE consumers have called for proof over claims that an Aldi kitchen tap may contain dangerous levels of lead. The lab results are finally in.

MANY consumers have demanded proof supporting the claims and counterclaims about Aldi’s controversial Easy Home spiral spring mixer tap.

Aldi has said the tap does not pose a lead-poisoning hazard. But the Queensland Building and Construction Commission has said that it does.

Neither made public the evidence to support their positions.

Using Queensland’s Right to Information Act, News Corp Australia has obtained the latest test, which was done for the QBCC in August by an accredited lab — to the Australian Standard.

The four-page test result is available through the link below.

Pages three and four are the most relevant. They show the product failed the test.

Page four shows the lead concentration in the second final result was 21 times the maximum allowable concentration.
