NAB internet banking, app goes down

National Australia Bank’s online and mobile sites went down leaving customers unable to access their money as the cause remained a mystery.

A final report into Australia’s banking royal commission has been released

National Australia Bank’s online and mobile sites were down for over an hour this evening, leaving customers unable to access their accounts.

Customers were greeted by a message which said “NAB Internet Banking is currently unavailable.

“We’re sorry for the trouble and we’re working to fix it as soon as possible.”

The bank confirmed the outage on its Facebook page.

One customer wrote on Facebook: “And once again left stranded in the supermarket thanks to trusty nab”.

Another said: “You better be kidding it’s my birthday and I need to transfer money between my accounts for dinner tonight so this better not drag out for hours like usual!”

More than an hour later the bank apologised to customers but did not provide a reason for the cause of the outage.

NAB was hit by similar outage twice in January.

Yesterday, thousands of Australians suddenly found themselves out of pocket, with the failure of Bendigo Bank electronic banking services.

Bendigo issued a clarification after customers took to social media to vent frustration and concern, saying their banking apps were not functioning and worrying about their pay-wave and eftpos transactions paying-up.
