We’re used to buying tools and plants from Bunnings and now we will also be able to buy kitchenware, home entertainment and indoor furniture.

The popular hardware store has announced it is joining with well known brands to launch its own online marketplace next month.

The online store will be called MarketLink and is set to sell up to 8000 products including indoor furniture, whitegoods and kitchen appliances, home entertainment, kitchenware and homeware.

Bunnings managing director Mike Schneider said they were already in discussions with a variety of home and lifestyle retailers and manufacturers to join their Trusted Sellers program.

“We’ve had a very positive response from sellers and we already have more than 8000 products ready for launch on MarketLink in November,” he said.

“While it’s too early to announce the sellers who have signed up, we hope to be able to release these details in the next month or so,” he said.

Juts like Amazon and eBay, MarketLink will feature a wide variety of products including well-known brands, that are not currently available in Bunnings stores.

“This is about creating a highly curated range of products that extends and complements our in-store range, creating a one-stop shop for our customers’ home and lifestyle needs — everything from the front gate to the back fence,” Mr Schneider said.

He said MarketLink will deliver a “competitive” offer for customers.

Bunnings has a dedicated team working on the project and is hoping to launch the offer in November.

“Our focus is on getting the offer right and we won’t launch until we’re comfortable that the offer is competitive and will be one that is valued by our customers,” Mr Schneider said.

Bunnings told News Corp it would work with sellers to ensure that products represent great value for money for customers.
