Investors from Australia, the UK, Canada and Croatia are seeking a collective $A1.6 million in newly-lodged legal complaints against alleged Sydney fraudsters Adriana and Luka Matak.

The Mataks, both aged in their 30s, are being held in Remetinec prison in the Croatian capital of Zagreb, accused of defrauding people there of 350,000 euros ($A587,000).

They have not been charged and strongly deny the allegations.

Croatian corporate lawyer Marko Bohacek said he had filed 10 fraud charges with the Municipal Criminal State Attorneys’ Office, for consideration, on behalf of investors he is representing.

The investors are aged between 20 and 40 and according to Mr Bohacek have allegedly lost “oceans of money”, including one who is desperate to recoup $A363,000.

“People have (allegedly) lost oceans of money to this couple, some of it was for future investments in businesses, for their children, for their retirements, – not all of it was big money, but it was enough to inflict serious damage,” Mr Bohacek, a partner in law firm BDV Legal in the Zagreb, said.

“The earliest case I have dates back six years and I also have a single mother I’m representing.

Croatian Prosecutor Dana Somek is assessing the submitted charges and will soon decide if a criminal case against the Mataks should be opened or not.

Croatian law also allows persons to file a claim for damages alongside the charges they or their legal representative file for consideration.

According to Mr Bohacek, 500,000 euros ($A840,023) left three accounts belonging to the alleged con artists between April and September 1, before they were arrested.

“Some people were left penniless, they could not pay their health bills afterwards,” Mr Bohacek claimed.

“No one was exempt, everyone was a potential client to them.”

Before their arrest, the Sydney couple lived a cultivated and glamorous lifestyle, with expensive cars, jewellery and clothing.

A new video obtained by News Corp shows Ms Matak decorating the handle of her new designer Hermes bag — the Birkin, which costs upwards of $10,000 — with a scarf. She also proudly displayed it on hotel bed, as she posed for a selfie.

“I lost money to them (the Mataks) but the emotional and mental damage I suffered was immeasurable, I was in a black hole for at least a year, trying to understand how it happened,” one London investor who allegedly lost $289,472, told News Corp.

“I still can’t fathom how people I invited to my birthday party, for Christmas dinners at my home, partied with me while (allegedly acting in a) callous and heartless (way),” he said.

The Mataks met in the Croatian capital on Tinder and five months later married. They share a son called Luka Junior, who is being cared for by grandparents.
