What has happened since the last Bush Summit?
Since its launch in 2019, the Bush Summit has delivered incredible wins and tangible change for the regional and rural communities of Australia through government commitments and policy announcements including the following last year: $180 million for Reef HQ (QLD), $190 million reef investment (QLD), $3.9m commitment to Copperstring Powerlink/Cattleman’s dreaming program for vulnerable youth (QLD), $200m from Premier ‘safety blitz’ upgrade to 72 rural roads black spots (NSW).
The 2024 Bush Summit wrapped up in NSW with politicians, policymakers and regional leaders addressing the challenges such as crippling power bills, targeting crime.
And in Queensland the PM hinted at a long-term multibillion-dollar commitment to “finish” the Bruce Highway.
