Top Finks bikie charged after man allegedly bashed, threatened at gunpoint

A top member of a major bikie gang has been arrested following an alleged violent assault south of Brisbane.

Police have charged a senior bikie following an alleged violent attack where a man was threatened with a shotgun and forced into a car south of Brisbane.

Charges were laid against the 26-year-old – who police allege is the sergeant of arms of the Finks Outlaw Motorcycle Gang – on Tuesday.

It is alleged the 26-year-old was with another man and woman when he drove up to the alleged victim, 25, on Maranoa Drive in Logan Village on April 27.

The man was allegedly pulled inside the car, bashed and threatened while a shotgun was pointed at him.

He was then allegedly shoved from the car as it drove off.

Detectives from the Logan Major and Organised Crime Squad on Tuesday arrested the man at a Staplyton service station.

He was charged with extortion, assault occasioning bodily harm and deprivation of liberty.

Detective Senior Sergeant Adrian Sala said the alleged offender and the alleged victim are known to each other.

“Young men who hang around or join gangs will find there is no loyalty and definitely no brotherhood, and I encourage them to look at the QPS Gangs Exit Program to assist them in making better choices,” Detective Senior Sergeant Sala said, speaking generally.

Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward as investigations continue.

The Beenleigh man will appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
