Former television personality Andrew O’Keefe has checked into a rehabilitation centre after being released on bail.
He left Silverwater jail in Sydney and travelled to the facility near Newcastle with his brother.
The first images of O’Keefe were captured when he stopped at a service station along the way.
Footage showed O’Keefe in good spirits as he talked and laughed with multiple people.
Asked if he wanted a coffee, he said: “No, I’m good thanks … yeah, no, I had a few today.”
When he was told he looked good, he replied: “Yeah, well I feel well.”
The 50-year-old had been in custody since he was arrested in January, then charged with assaulting and choking a woman at an apartment in Sydney’s CBD.
In February, he pleaded guilty to a separate charge of drug possession.
Under the terms of his bail, O’Keefe must stay at the rehabilitation centre for six months, take any medication prescribed to him and see a psychiatrist and psychologist weekly.
O’Keefe is scheduled to face court again in June.
The former Weekend Sunrise and Deal Or No Deal host left Channel 7 in February last year after his expired contract was not renewed.
