A man’s body has been found in floodwaters in Sydney’s west near where a delivery driver went missing.

Beverly Hills man Xianbin Liu hadn’t been seen since midnight on Tuesday when he left Greendale and did not arrive at his next job, which was scheduled for 6am that day.

The 50-year-old’s delivery truck was found abandoned in floodwaters on Wolstenhome Ave at 9pm on Tuesday evening – in the suburb where he made his last delivery.

Police found a man’s body in the area on Wednesday afternoon.

NSW Police said the body was yet to be formally identified but was believed to be that of the missing man.

Police had released an image of Mr Liu earlier on Wednesday as a search for him got under way.

The owner of the delivery business that employed Mr Liu alerted Liverpool Area Command officers to the truck’s whereabouts after he didn’t show up for work in the morning.

Police entered the water and searched the submerged vehicle and surrounds, but were initially unable to find him.

A large-scale search of the surrounding area involving police divers, Polair and NSW SES personnel located a body in the water.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
