Police have charged a man over an alleged terrifying carjacking in which a woman was held at knifepoint.
Glenn Spark was arrested at a Sydney CBD hotel on Thursday afternoon in relation to the carjacking on Wednesday in Jordan Springs, police said.
The 37-year-old was taken to Mascot Police Station and has been charged with an outstanding warrant for aggravated taking and driving a motor vehicle with a person in it while armed with a weapon.
He has also been charged with one count of break and enter with intent at North Rocks on April 9.
In the incident, Mr Spark allegedly threatened a woman with the knife, before driving away in her blue Hyundai i30N.
She was unharmed during the incident.
Police arrived at the Jordan Springs shopping centre carpark around 10.20am following the incident and established a crime scene.
Around 1pm, police were called to a North Parramatta intersection, after reports a Mercedes and a blue Hyundai i30N had collided.
The blue car in the collision, with a NSW licence plate – HER30N – was identified as the stolen vehicle, however witnesses say the male driver fled on foot from the scene.
He has been refused bail and will appear in Central Local Court on Friday.
