Police are on the hunt for a driver who allegedly ploughed into a 10-year-old girl after running a red light in a shocking hit-run in Sydney’s west.
The girl was crossing the road at traffic lights on Hoxton Park Road, near the corner of Gill Avenue, in Liverpool when she was hit by a car just after 7pm on Tuesday.
The impact knocked her onto the road.
Police will allege the driver, behind the wheel of a black Audi SUV, ran a red light before hitting the girl and fleeing the scene.
The girl was taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a stable condition with possible leg and hip injuries.
Officers have launched an investigation and urged anyone who witnessed the incident, or has mobile phone or dashcam footage, is urged to come forward.
